#Sun is the nearest #star and a life giver for our planet. The significance of #Sun is limitless for all life on #Earth including climate, seasons, measurement of time, regulation of ocean currents, and many more endless cosmic controls that it exerts. This importance has made ancient cultures and royal dynasties associating themselves with it. It appears in motifs and scriptures since very early times. It adorns the crowns and thrones of powerful dynasties.
In astrology Sun is denoted as the King of the #solar family which consists of 9 celestial bodies
#Sun, #Moon, #Mercury, #Venus, #Mars, #Saturn, #Jupiter, #Rahu (Dragon’s Head), #Ketu (Dragon’s Tail)
Out of these 9 astronomical bodies #Rahu/Ketu are called shadow planets as they are not physical bodies but two sensitive points having a lot of effect on various aspects of life. I will elaborate more on these separately.
Sun represents authority, royal demeanor, government action, leadership, political power, discipline, energy, charisma, flamboyance, will-power, bones in the body, Soul, Father, self confidence, illuminator, upholder of righteousness (Dharma). Theater & Poetry, demanding attention, self respect and many other aspects of life and personality.
When people talk about their Sun-Sign, it basically means the sign where the Sun was placed at the time of their birth. This gives a lot of insights into their life, moods, nature etc. however it is an incomplete picture because rest of the solar family, their placement in the #astrological chart and their interplay is missing.
So next time you look up your Sun Sign, do not forget there are other factors also that you need to know.
